If you have been paddling and camping for a few days, then I would recommend you reward yourself with a couple of nights at the Heriot Bay Inn (250 285 3322).
You have access with your kayak from the water, thought it might be nice to find someone to help you carry it up the escarpment from the shingle beach.
The hotel used to be a logging camp, and the receptionist will be happy to tell you all about its history if you start up a conversation.
There's a restaurant with very good burgers and fries, including, if you so desire, a veggie burger from Impossible Foods. There's also a bar with a pool table, and karaoke on Saturday nights, Celine Dion and Nickelback are local favorites.
Laundry room is available if you need to wash clothes.
Just up the road is the BC Ferries Terminal, and the True Value Foods Supermarket. If you are heading north, this will be your last resupply point for several days. The food truck next to the supermarket is not recommended.
If you continue up on Heriot Bay Drive you'll reach the We-Wai-Kai Campsite. You can also paddle here and arrive at the beach. It's an option for a place to stay if the Heriot Bay Inn is full.
Beyond the Campsite is Rebecca Spit Marine Park. It's a pretty walk with views of Quadra Island, but a several hour hike if you are coming from the Inn.
