This area is part of a National Park Service water trail, which encompasses the Potomac Heritage Water Trail.
There are four possible put ins, I have chosen to map what I think is the best one. Breton Bay is a beautiful paddle and the Port of Leonard Town Wharf is a great stop to get out, tourist around a bit, have a nice lunch, or get some ice cream from the shop on the wharf, but the real star is the boat ramp parking at Port of Leonardtown Park is shared by a winery for your apres' paddle enjoyment. Of course a winery and a boat ramp sharing parking means that parking can become problematic if you wait until the winery is open to park - especially when there is a live band and food trucks.
This is all tidal water and McIntosh Run can be a bit shallow on a low tide, but it is a beautiful little creek (they sometimes call creeks 'runs' here) and well worth the paddle.
