Morning Side Picnic Island has a large sand bank covered in grape tree vines which is easy to land and has protection from the wind. It can be a tranquil place to spend an afternoon or take a break if you are passing by. You'll have a close up view of the Miami Skyline to enjoy. If you do decide that you want to camp here, however, make sure you pitch your tent after dark as the Miami-Dade police will likely do a sweep to make sure the sea hobos aren't making the place their permanent encampment. If they catch you, they will tell you to pack up and leave.
